Adding a Profile Picture and Cover Photo to Your Facebook Business Page

If you don’t already have a Facebook Business Page, read this article first.

Once you have your Page, it’s time to add some photos. You’ll need to add a profile picture and a cover photo.

Add Your Profile Picture: In the example below, our profile picture is our logo. If you don’t have a logo for your business, you can add a picture of yourself (because you really are the face of your NSP business). Facebook allows you change this photo as often as you want but I recommend keeping it the same.

Add Your Cover Photo: This is your Facebook banner. Pick something that represents your business. It’s probably the first thing that someone will notice when they come to your Facebook page and you don’t want visitors to be confused about what you offer as a service or product. Like the profile picture, you can change your cover photo as often as you want. I recommend changing this photo no more than once per quarter.

If you don’t have a profile picture or a cover photo, you can try using canva.com. Canva has several free photos and thousands more that only cost $1 each. Once you’re on Canva’s home page, click on “Facebook Cover.” You can select one of their pre-made covers by double-clicking on it or you can search for an image by topic. If you select a pre-made cover, click on the text to change it. You can also use Canva to create infographics or quotes. To learn more about using Canva, watch this video:

Once you you have your profile picture and cover photo saved to your computer, simply click on “Add Photo” and select “Upload Photo.” You’re now able to select the image you want to use for your profile picture.

Now that you’ve added the profile picture, click on the camera that is slightly above your updated profile picture. This will allow you to add your cover photo. Once you’ve uploaded the cover photo, you can adjust it by holding down your mouse button and dragging your mouse.
