November 5, 2014, was the grand opening of the Sunshine Heroes Center for Children. Sunshine Heroes partnered with the Nicaragua Children’s Foundation to build the Sunshine Heroes Center for Children. This center includes a library, health clinic, garden, playground, and is a meeting place for the communities of Ojochal, Torovenado, Miravalle y Fátima. It is estimated that this center will serve over 3,000 people per year.
Community leaders presented certificates to the two foundations and also Verónica Castro from San Juan del Sur Spanish School who acts as an intermediary. Verónica said that a Nicaraguan Doctor will give medical consultations once a month to the communities served by the Children’s Center.
